VUF Bikes celebrates its contract with the La Poste group

Based in Mérignac since June 2022, VUF Bikes inaugurated its offices and workshop in Mérignac by formalizing the tender won from the La Poste group, for the delivery of 600 cargo bikes.

Hidden under a presentation sheet, the first VUF XXL tricycle in the colors of La Poste was finally revealed to the eyes of the guests. To celebrate the baptism of this new tricycle that is fully customized to meet the problems of urban factors, VUF Bikes brought together its teams, the managers of Urban Logistics and the Technical Department of the La Poste group and members of the Valeo team. Note also the presence of local elected officials who came to support VUF Bikes in the launch of its contract with La Poste: Marie Recalde, deputy delegate for economic development of the city of Mérignac, the Bordeaux metropolis represented by Sylvaine Panabière, elected alternate for mobility; and Marie Laure Cuvelier, regional councillor for the New Aquitaine region.

In order to contribute to the development of its fleet, La Poste has launched a European consultation for the very open and fragmented tricycle market.

After more than a year of work integrating numerous tests according to criteria of quality, ergonomics and safety of the factor and the goods, VUF Bikes won the competition, offering a preview of a motorization made in France thanks to its collaboration with Valeo and its new Cyclee engine, awarded an Innovation Award at CES Las Vegas 2023.

This new contract won by VUF Bikes allows the company to increase its maturity and establish its leading position in the French cycling market. VUF Bikes electrically-assisted cargo bikes are agile, large-capacity XXL three-wheelers, with perfect dimensions for urban use and with a load capacity of up to 150 kg and/or 1.5 m³. Scooters that are both light and resistant for intensive use by all urban professionals.

For VUF Bikes, this contract is an economic accelerator but also a way to increase its level of maturity, explains Thomas Chenut, founder and CEO: “This market allows us to see further and to reinforce the reliability and robustness of our products. The requirements of the La Poste group in arbitrating applications and the final selection of our tricycle model allowed us to set our vision and design an even more qualitative cargo bike, which also benefits all of our customers.”

The recent VUF Bikes fundraiser coupled with its new contract with La Poste, projects the French tricycle manufacturer into a new dimension that attracts the interest of foreign customers. VUF Bikes aims to increase the production capacity of its workshop to assemble 5000 cargo bikes per year to meet demand and continue its mission to decarbonize last-mile logistics in Europe.
