Training tomorrow's cyclists: a new trailer for the city of Bordeaux

To support the “Know How to Ride a Bike” program, VUF is innovating with a bicycle transport trailer designed for cycle paths.

Soft mobility, starting at primary school

At a time when city centers are being transformed to promote soft travel, cycling is taking a central place in the construction of the cities of tomorrow. It is in this context that Bordeaux City Hall is actively committed to training the youngest in autonomous and responsible mobility, through the national system. “Know how to ride a bike — SRAV”.

But how to ensure the logistics of such a program in a city where car traffic is increasingly restricted? To meet this challenge, The city of Bordeaux asked VUF Bikes in order to design an innovative, practical solution in line with the city's ecological ambitions.

The logistical challenge: how to transport bikes from school to school?

As part of the SRAV program, the municipality organizes educational sessions in various schools, requiring the transport of children's bicycles from one school to another. Until now, these trips were made by truck, a solution that was not well suited to the constraints of the city center: traffic jams, pedestrian areas, regulated accesses...

The objective was clear: to imagine an alternative smoother, faster and greener. And that's how the idea of the trailer T3W BIKE RACK, designed to be towed by a bike, able to circulate on bike paths and easily access all urban areas.

A trailer designed for communities

Designed and produced by VUF Bikes, This trailer can transport up to 8 children's bikes of all sizes, safely. It is aimed at communities, schools or associations wishing to facilitate their educational initiatives around cycling.

Safe transport, smooth maneuverability, foolproof robustness: this trailer ticks all the boxes of a modern logistics tool, designed for learning.
