From need to concept

VUF Bikes was originally the result of a pilot project to collect waste by bicycle that was carried out for more than 24 months. Today, VUF Bikes is a utility bike concept specific to the transport of large loads and volumes in urban, industrial and off-road environments.

In 2014, La Recyclette was born: the starting point off VUF Bikes.

VUF Bikes collaborates with more than twenty French SMEs to deploy tricycle vehicles on the market, 90% of the value of which is created in France.

Birth of the brand VUF Bikes.

VUF Bikes is officially launched, embodying our commitment to sustainable and efficient mobility. This crucial step realizes our ambitions and our dedication to decarbonizing last-mile logistics in Europe.

That year, we took  a major step forward with the start of the industrialization of our cargo bikes.

In 2022, VUF Bikes completed two significant fundraising campaigns, for an amount of 5 million euro
, a milestone that underlines the confidence of investors in our vision and our growth potential.

In 2024, we reached a new peak in our evolution with the expansion of our production capacity to 3000 cargo bikes per year.

A company with impact

At VUF Bikes, we focus on eco-responsibility and integrate these aspects directly into our production activities.

Here are some of the elements that demonstrate our commitment to a more responsible and sustainable production:

Centralization of our production in a single workshop:
By combining our production in an only place (Mérignac), we are aiming to reduce our carbon footprint while limiting travel and optimizing our resources. As our production workshop is close to our offices, this allows us to be agile in adapting and responding to the specific needs of our customers, partners and the market.

Collaboration with French and European suppliers:
VUF Bikes favors working with local suppliers to promote the regional economy while reducing our carbon footprint related to transport. Whether it comes to mechanically welded structures and components specific to VUFs, we source mainly from French and European partners, thus contributing to the preservation of local employment and to the economic dynamism of our region.

Responsible internal waste management:
We attach great importance to the management of our waste internally. Within our production workshop, an efficient sorting system has been set up in order to minimize our environmental impact by promoting the recycling and valorization of materials.

Our CSR commitments

Our eco-responsible actions include the reuse of packaging, the choice of sustainable materials and close collaboration with suppliers to minimize and/or optimize packaging.

We adopt a circular approach by reusing parts from the after-sales service. After a rigorous analysis, reusable ones are refurbished or reinjected as refurbished parts, avoiding waste and reducing our carbon footprint.

*parts that have already been used are never put back into service on a new product.

In our retrofit process, each recovered part is subjected to mechanical analysis. Those with structural defects are discarded to ensure quality and safety.

For those selected, we assess the time and cost required to upgrade them. If they meet our criteria, they are modernized according to the latest version in force and then reintroduced to the market as retrofitted parts.

In 2023, we took significant steps by recruiting six assemblers via on-the-job training contracts (AFPR), thus promoting inclusion and supporting professional retraining.

In addition, we have enriched our team by welcoming two foreign workers, reflecting our commitment to cultural diversity within our company.

These initiatives are part of our global corporate social responsibility approach, aimed at creating an inclusive and diversity-friendly work environment..
