VUF Bikes celebrates its contract with the La Poste group

Established in Mérignac since June 2022, VUF Bikes inaugurated its offices and workshop in Mérignac by formalizing the call for tenders won from the La Poste group, relating to the delivery of 600 cargo bikes.

Hidden under a presentation sheet, the first VUF XXL tricycle in the colors of La Poste was finally revealed to the guests. To celebrate the baptism of this new scooter, entirely personalized to respond to the problems of urban mail carriers, VUF Bikes brought together its teams, the leaders of Urban Logistics and the Technical Department of the La Poste group and members of the Valeo team. Also note the presence of local elected officials who came to support VUF Bikes in the launch of its contract with La Poste: Marie Recalde, deputy delegate for economic development at the town hall of Mérignac, the metropolis of Bordeaux represented by Sylvaine Panabière, elected alternate to the mobility; and Marie Laure Cuvelier, regional advisor for the Nouvelle Aquitaine region.

In order to contribute to the development of its fleet, La Poste has launched a European consultation aimed at the very open and fragmented e-trikes.

After more than a year of work integrating numerous tests according to criteria of quality, ergonomics and safety of the postman and the goods, it was VUF Bikes which won the competition, by offering a preview of an engine made in France thanks to its collaboration with Valeo and its new Cyclee engine, rewarded with an Innovation Award at CES Las Vegas 2023.

This new market won by VUF Bikes allows the company to increase its maturity and establish its leading position in the French cycling logistics market. VUF Bikes electrically assisted cargo bikes are agile, heavy-duty XXL three-wheelers, with perfect dimensions for urban use which have a load capacity of up to 150 kg and/or 1.5 m³. Tricycles that are both light and durable for intensive use by all urban professionals.

For VUF Bikes, this contract is an economic boost but also a means of increasing its level of maturity, explains Thomas Chenut, founder and CEO: "This market allows us to see further ahead and to confirm the reliability and robustness of our products. La Poste Group's requirements in the selection of candidates and the final selection of our three-wheeler model have enabled us to fix our vision and design an even higher-quality cargo bike, which also benefits all our customers.

The recent fundraising from VUF Bikes coupled with its new contract with La Poste takes the French scooter manufacturer into a new dimension which attracts the interest of foreign customers. VUF Bikes aims to increase the production capacity of its workshop to assemble 5,000 cargo bikes per year to meet demand and continue its mission of decarbonizing last mile logistics in Europe.
